Microsoft Office Classes

 All Microsoft Office classes use Microsoft Office 2013, except for Microsoft Project, which uses Microsoft Office 2010.  

Microsoft Access

Microsoft Access 2013 Part 1

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This course is designed for students who wish to establish a foundational understanding of Microsoft Office Access 2013, including the skills necessary to create a new database, construct data tables, design forms and reports, and create queries. In this course, the student will learn to create and manage a fundamental Access 2013 database.

Microsoft Access 2013 Part 2

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This course is designed for students wishing to gain intermediate-level skills or individuals whose job responsibilities include constructing relational databases, performing database maintenance, creating advanced queries and reports, or integrating Access with other programs. In this course, the student will work with relational database structure, relationships, efficiency, integrity, and customization.

Microsoft Access 2013 Part 3

Students taking this course are database administrators or prospective database administrators who have experience working with Access 2013 and need to learn advanced skills. To ensure success in this course student should have experience working with Microsoft Access 2013, including a working knowledge of database design and creation, form design and creation, report design and creation, a working knowledge of database querying and the various table relationships. Prerequisites are Access 2013 Part 1 and Access 2013 Part 2.  

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel 2013 Part 1

This course aims to provide the student with the foundational Excel knowledge and skills necessary to help organize, calculate, analyze, revise, update, and present data. The student will be able to create and develop Excel worksheets and workbooks in order to work with and analyze the data that is critical to the success of the organization. The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members.

Microsoft Excel 2013 Part 2

This course builds upon the foundational knowledge presented in the Microsoft® Office Excel® 2013: Part 1 (Second Edition) course and will help start you down the road to creating advanced workbooks and worksheets that can help deepen your understanding of organizational intelligence. The ability to analyze massive amounts of data, extract actionable information from it, and present that information to decision makers is at the foundation of a successful organization that is able to compete at a high level. The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members.

 

Microsoft Excel 2013 Part 3

This course builds off of the foundational and intermediate knowledge presented in the Microsoft® Office Excel® 2013: Part 1 (Second Edition) and Part 2 (Second Edition) courses to help you get the most of your Excel experience. The ability to collaborate with colleagues, automate complex or repetitive tasks, and use conditional logic to construct and apply elaborate formulas and functions will put the full power of Excel right at your fingertips. The more you learn about how to get Excel to do the hard work for you, the more you’ll be able to focus on getting the answers you need from the vast amounts of data your organization generates. The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word 2013 Part 1

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This course is intended for students who want to learn basic Word 2013 skills, such as creating, editing, and formatting documents; inserting simple tables and creating lists; and employing a variety of techniques for improving the appearance and accuracy of document content.

 

Microsoft Word 2013 Part 2

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This course is designed for students who wish to use Microsoft Word to create and modify complex documents and use tools that allow them to customize those documents. This course builds upon the foundational knowledge presented in the Microsoft® Office Project® 2013: Part 1 course.

Microsoft Word 2013 Part 3

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This course is intended for students who create and work with lengthy documents, collaborate with others on documents, and create forms in Microsoft Word. This course builds upon the foundational knowledge presented in the Microsoft® Office Project® 2013: Part 2 course.

Microsoft Project 

Microsoft Project 2010 Part 1

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This ILT Series course teaches the basic commands and features of Microsoft Project 2010. Students will learn how to create and modify task lists, establish a project schedule, create calendars, assign resources to tasks, track costs, and work with different views and tables. Students will also apply filters and groups, and sort task and resource data. Finally, they will learn how to resolve resource conflicts.

 

Microsoft Project 2010 Part 3

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This ILT Series course builds on the concepts and skills taught in the Basic course. Students will learn how to work with templates, create baseline plans, monitor and update projects, analyze project statistics, handle delays and conflicts, create reports, consolidate project files, share resources, and customize Project. Students will also learn how to communicate project information by using Project Server 2010 and how to integrate Project data with other Office applications.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 Part 1

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This course is designed for students who wish to gain the foundational understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 that is necessary to create and develop engaging multimedia presentations.

 

Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 Part 2

The cost of this class is free for LMLA members and $50 for non-LMLA members. This course is intended for students who have a foundational working knowledge of PowerPoint 2013, who wish to take advantage of the application’s higher-level usability, security, collaboration, and distribution functionality.
